Gullwing Trim & Form for Low Volume/High Mix
A family of ONE-SIDED universal SMT lead form and trim systems for processing two- and four- sided Flat packs and Quad packs into a gull wing configuration. Two models are available that process one side of a package per press stroke for high mix, low-volume production and R&D requirements. Please note the standard tools have set limits for body size and dimensions. Fancort can modify these as needed to meet your applications and components dimensions. Please, also, note all universal tools bend at 90º and will give you a range of 80-90º of spring back. If you want different angles or Omega bends, dedicated tools are a better choice. Higher quality forming or increased production requirements can be met with our two-sided Flex System that process two sides of a package per press stroke, offered with optional mechanical loading and unloading.
F-1B/1: Adjustable One-Sided Lead Forming System
Our basic adjustable one-sided SMT Lead Forming system. This tool allows adjustment of most dimensions on an SMT form, but the foot will be fixed. This unit is an excellent entry level machine perfect for short to high quality production runs.
There are three standard versions of this system. Custom systems will be quoted as requested.
F-1B/1 a standard tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ with a body thickness maximum of .150 above and below the forming lines.
F-1B/1/SP a special tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ with a body thickness maximum of .350 above and below the forming lines.
F-1B/1T a special tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ with a body thickness maximum of .400 above and below the forming lines to handle thick packages. Special customized versions of this tool can sometimes handle .500 above the forming lines.
F1B/1-4 a large tool that can handle parts up to 4″ x 4″ with a body thickness maximum of .150 above and below the forming lines.

- Adjustable back stop with linear slide holds package cases parallel for accurate registration.

- All models process top-brazed, side-exit or bottom-brazed packages with optional parts.
- “Digital Micrometers” on all tools, which can be switched from inch to metric and zero’d for easy recalibration and/or resetting by the operator.
- Easy to change die members for large variations in lead material thickness, hardness, AND / OR shape.
- Standard tools handle up to 2.5” packages.
- Large tools handle up to 4” packages.
- For Quads: Tie Bars, and or Tie Bar Corners need to be removed prior to using this model tool.
